Tiziano Ferro is a young multi-talented international super star, singer, songwriter and producer. He is the only Italian artist of the new millennium with such a strong international profile.
His incredible career started off back in 2001, with the single “Xdono”, which anticipated the debut album “Rosso Relativo” in 2002, immediately released in more than 40 countries worldwide. The record was N.1 in Italy, as well as Platinum in Italy, Switzerland, Spain; Gold in France, Belgium and Mexico (also Top 10). Over 1 mil copies sold worldwide. The single is the third best selling one all over Europe in 2002.
The second album “111” in 2003 establishes Tiziano as an international superstar, especially in the Latin American market, lead by Mexico. Again the album is released worldwide: Platinum and N.1 album in Italy, Mexico, Spain and Colombia; Gold record in Switzerland, Argentina and USA Latin. Over 1 mil album sold. The single “Sere Nere” remained N.1 in the Italian airplay chart for 9 weeks.
The story is repeated once again with Tiziano’s third album “Nessuno E’ Solo” in 2006. His ultimate success in Italy put him in the Olympus of the most iconic local super stars. The album stayed 4 weeks at N.1 in Italy, for a record 100 consecutive weeks of presence. Diamond status in Italy, Platinum in Switzerland. And about another million copies sold worldwide.
At this stage Tiziano started achieving incredible results in single digital sales. “Stop! Dimentica” sold 28k downloads on iTunes and 46k single and video downloads on H3G in just one month.
On November 2008 Tiziano Ferro released his latest album: called “Alla mia età”, following the path of his previous albums in the international market.
The album is still in the Top 10 of the Italian Album Sales Chart, after 15 months since its release, having reached already 7 times Platinum.
As of today, Tiziano Ferro has reached an amazing singles and albums sales total of over 5 million copies worldwide.
During the past 9 years, Tiziano Ferro’s artistic path has been continuously on the rise: he’s finally seen his dream of living on his own music come true, but success hasn’t changed him.
His songs have been played all around the planet, giving him a popularity, in Spain and Central/South America most of all, maybe unexpected, yet that surely gave him the opportunity to experience different realities and the chance of widen up his mentality and his view of the world.
Thanks to his songs Tiziano has been able to visit many countries and get in touch with different uses and customs: he’s fallen in love for Mexico, where he’s lived for a few years and got a degree in Spanish. He’s then moved to Spain and finally has chosen the UK as his residency, where he lives since 2005.
Tiziano’s secret is his inborn gift of writing songs with an international taste: his songs are born in Italian, but they also ‘sound’ if translated into English, French or Spanish. His versatility also allowed him to collaborate with top international artists, like Kelly Rowland, just to mention the most recent international duet “Breathe Gentle”.
From this point of view he’s a pioneer, the first of a new generation of Italian songwriters.
He took off from Latina, Rome. Even if he’s been living around the world since the beginning of his career, he’s never abandoned his native city which he’s strongly linked to (his family and closest friends still live there).
Tiziano is still rather young, but has already experienced and learnt a lot which constitutes a very rich background. He’s about to become 30 and is definitely at an important peak of his career and life, and from the release of his latest album he’s been confirming the great results he’s been able to achieve.
Even more important, Tiziano confirmed himself as a great songwriter, gifted by an uncommon sensibility and an exceptional voice.
His skills also allowed him to successfully experiment writing for other artists and even produce brand new artists. His very first production was Giusy Ferreri, a former X Factor contestant, who, with her debut EP and album in 2008, entirely produced by Tiziano, including many songs written by him, became a multi platinum star, holding the record for some of the most played songs ever by Italian radios.
2009 has been an important year for Tiziano, who kept collecting new achievements and breaking new records.
The greatest new achievement was an extensive tour in Italy, Switzerland and North America for the first time. The tour culminated with two remarkable sold out dates at Rome’s Stadio Olimpico, which became his first ever live DVD (one of the best selling of the year.
The incredible stream of records broken by “Alla Mia Età”, kept delivering amazing results: according to the official chart for 2009, it was the best selling record of the whole year in Italy.
Each one of the four singles taken from his latest album - “Alla Mia Età”, “Il Regalo Più Grande”, “Indietro”, “Il Sole Esiste Per Tutti”- reached Top 1 in the Italian radio airplay chart.
At the beginning of 2010, right before taking a well deserved break after the last two intense years, a new big opportunity was offered to Tiziano: a duet with MARY J. BLIGE on the track “Each Tear”, included in the Italian edition of Blige’s latest album. It took him just a few days to fly to Los Angeles and happily and proudly record the duet and the relative video. This is an important event in the international career of Tiziano, as well as another proof of his great talent.
In less than 10 years and within his 30s, Tiziano Ferro has become one of the most acclaimed Italian artists in his homeland as well as worldwide.
